This is the Beef Farmers of Ontario's mid-day market report for Wednesday, June 20, 2018

Prices are reported on a "per one hundred pound" basis, unless otherwise stated.

Updated daily as the information is submitted, completed by 12:00 noon.

Today at the Ontario Stockyards Inc. there are 165 fed steers & heifers, 300 cows, 25 bulls and 32 veal calves on offer.

Cows are trading actively with prices at least $2.00-$3.00 cwt higher. Bulls sold stronger and veal sold at about steady prices. 450 stockers are expected for Thursday's sale.

U.S. Trade (U.S. funds)

The U.S. cash cattle trade is seeing a few starter bids in the south this morning at $108.00 live but no selling interest is reported.  Asking prices are sitting at $115.00 plus live in the south and $183.00 plus dressed in the north.

This morning at the Fed Cattle Exchange online auction there were 2,125 head on offer, all from either Nebraska or Kansas, with delivery set for 1-9 days. The sale got underway at 11:00 am with all Nebraska cattle selling at $110.00 live while the cattle from Kansas were unsold, with one lot passing bids of $112.00 live.
