As of Thursday morning, March 15, the numbers consigned for the March 16 Quinte Sale at Hoards Station are in the range of 525 with the likelihood that they will reach 600 by sale time. This is a "vaccinations preferred" sale that will likely have 95% + properly vaccinated. The vast majority of the offering is vaccinated with live vaccine with frequent added value immunizations for Pasteurella, Blackleg, Somnus, as well as parasite control. The majority of the consignors are prepared to guarantee the heifers to be open. The larger portion of the offering consists of calves in the 5-7- weight categories though there is a significant block of heavier [800 lb. +] cattle as well. Charolais forms the largest breed influence with significant Angus, Simmental, and Limo influence as well. THIS IS NOT A VIDEO SALE.

[I] 47 Char/LimoX with approximately 50/50% heifer/steer mix with a weight range of 600 - 700 lb. for many as well as some in the 800lb. range and a group near 1000 lb. - steers castrated surgically and heifers estrumated and guaranteed open - from a live vaccinated cowherd- vaccinated with a live 5-way + Blackleg + parasite control on Jan. 1/18 - fed wrapped hay and !5% pellets
[ii] 30 SimmX calves [some are black, more steers than heifers] in the 500 - 700 lb weight range - steers were double pinched and calves were vaccinated with a live 5-way vaccine + Pasteurella , Blackleg and given parasite control on Feb. 22 with all work done by a veterinarian- the cowherd is vaccinated - bunk trained - fed corn silage, dry hay and mineral/salt-
