 As of 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 24, the consigned numbers for the Jan. 27 Quinte Stocker Sale are approximately 650 with the expectation that we will reach 750 - 800 + by sale time. This is an "all vaccinated" sale with almost all cattle being vaccinated with modified live vaccines and usually supported by added value immunizations for Blackleg and Pasteurella and parasite control.  To date, the majority of the cattle consigned will be in the 500 - 800 lb. weight range with a higher percentage of steers than usual.  Char is the strongest breed influence but there is significant Angus [both red and black], Simm, and Limo influence as well.  A large percentage of the heifers consigned are guaranteed to be open.    Overall, the offering will be of outstanding quality with a strong lineup of high quality "feature one owner lots".

[I]70  [50 steers, 20 heifers] CharX calves in the 600 - 800 lb. weight range from a live vaccinated cowherd and sired by strong quality purebred Char bulls - vaccinated with a live  5way +Pasteurella and Blackleg in the spring and again in October with the 5way + Pasteurella  and Blackleg/Somnus -  parasite control was given on Jan. 11 - steers have been castrated surgically - fed wrapped hay and have not had creep feed -

[ii]50 [25 steers, 25 heifers] CharX calves in the 600 lb. range from a cowherd that has been live vaccinated for many years - vaccinated with a live 5way and given parasite control on Oct. 30- heifers are guaranteed to be open, steers were banded at birth and all were weaned on Oct. 9 - fed wrapped 2nd cut hay and corn silage -

[iii]45 [26 steers, 1 male, 18 heifers] B. Ang. X B. Simm calves in the 600 lb. range from a live vaccinated cowherd and sired by high performance bulls - vaccinated with a live 5way + Pasteurella and Blackleg on Aug. 30 and again on Dec. 27 with parasite control included this time - heifers are guaranteed to be open and steers were banded at birth [except for the male]- fed wrapped hay, corn silage, 15 % pellets and F/C salt and mineral -

[iv]33 [30 steers, 3 heifers] B. AngusX cattle in the 600 - 800 lb. weight range from a live vaccinated cowherd - heifers are guaranteed to be open and steers have been castrated surgically - weaned Oct. 10 - vaccinated with a live 5way + Pasteurella, Blackleg and given parasite control at grass time and all given again on Dec. 29 - fed corn silage, balage, and mineral -

[v]30 [23 steers, 7 heifers] CharX calves from a vaccinated cowherd -steers were castrated surgically on Nov. 12 and all were weaned Oct. 29 - vaccinated for Blackleg in May and given a 5way + Pasteurella, Blackleg, and parasite control on Nov. 5 - fed hay, corn silage, and 16% pellets -

[vi] 50 [30 heifers, 20 steers] double moved cattle - the heifers are in the 900 - 1000 lb. weight range and the steers are 1000 lb. +/-   - besides being double moved all have been vaccinated in October and again Dec. 1 with a live 5way, Blackleg, and given parasite control - steers are guaranteed to be properly steered - all bunk trained and fed balage, corn silage and introduced to cracked corn by TMR - most heifers are CharX and some B.AngusX - steers are the same breeds as the heifers -  will sell in good sized ring lots -
