Captive Bolt Training with Dr. Sue Burlatschenko
When working with livestock, there are times when on-farm euthanasia is necessary. Use of a captive bolt gun is an approved method for euthanasia under the Beef Code of Practice. This course will discuss humane euthanasia using a captive bolt gun. There will be a teaching component on euthanasia decisions; along with how to safely and properly use a captive bolt gun. A hands-on demonstration will follow where participants are encouraged to test the captive bolt guns on rubber teaching heads and cadaver heads.
